Seattle, WA (Mercer Island)
An existing residence located in Seattle, Washington was renovated to accommodate a growing family. A two-story addition was added to the rear of the existing structure providing an additional 1,600 square feet of living space. The site was excavated to allow for lowered first floor living, dining and kitchen areas increasing overall ceiling heights. In addition, an open stair well was added within the existing structure to bring natural daylight into the space.
